Is This the Real Deal?
My first experience with black truffle salt was many years ago in Italy. I happened to notice it at the deli while I was shopping for pickled meat. I was absolutely blown away by the richness and the amazing taste. It literally took me aback because I had never tasted anything like it. Needless to say, I bought a lot and have always been hooked ever since.
The next time I was in a large department store, I noticed there was a large display of black truffle salt and decided to take a look myself. Was this the same kind of salt I had just been told about? Absolutely! So, I decided to buy some and put them to the test.
The first thing that impressed me was the rich and luxurious taste. I immediately knew that the black truffle salt I was tasting was the real thing because it reminded me very much of the famous Cajun style food. Superb taste, love it just for the simplicity. Very fast shipping.
Next, I decided to try the black truffle salt’s ability to retain its freshness. The texture was firm yet soft, just like the sea salt. After my second truffle try, I’m now able to use just a trace amount of sea salt and not worry about over-sipping or under-sipping. Also, the freshness doesn’t run off too fast, which is great if you want to enjoy your food and not wait for it to be cooled down.
So, in conclusion, this product does make a great addition to any kitchen pantry. Replacing table salt is a no-brainer and it gives you a healthy boost to your menu. And, it has a pleasantly spicy flavor that pairs wonderfully with cheese, meat, eggs and other foods. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an alternative to regular table salt.
My next dish that I am planning to prepare is a lamb stew. I’m going to try using the black truffle salt to give it a subtle sweetness. The combination of the rich flavor and texture is great for any number of hearty and tasty recipes, from pot roasts to seafoods to stews, soups, and Cajun style recipes. If you have a recipe that calls for black truffle salt, I encourage you to give it a try, you won’t know whether or not it will work unless you give it a try.
